Alaska Sustainable Energy Corporation

The Alaska Sustainable Energy Corporation (ASEC) is a subsidiary non-profit corporation of the Alaska Housing Financing Corporation that was created to support sustainable energy development across Alaska.

ASEC works to harness federal funding opportunities and partner with private sector stakeholders and other public entities to increase affordable, reliable, efficient, and resilient energy systems within the state.

Through financing programs, partnerships, and technical assistance, ASEC helps develop energy projects, strengthen building energy efficiency standards, and support organizations that provide capital for sustainable energy initiatives in Alaska communities.

Background

On July 31, 2024 Governor Dunleavy signed House Bill 273 into law, authorizing AHFC to create a subsidiary corporation to finance and facilitate sustainable energy development in Alaska.
